The Dr 15a is a very portable self-powered system with an extremely efficient 15" woofer that is capable of a seriously impressive and very punchy bass & mid range output. A custom m-34 compression driver handles high frequency reproduction with a clean, smooth and dynamically transparent clarity. Each driver is powered directly by its own perfectly matched independent amplifier in this bi-amplified active system for maximum efficiency and incredible sound pressure levels. A built-in two-channel mixer comprises both microphone and line inputs, allowing for use in any format, with or without additional mixer or audio sources. Inside our rigid custom designed cabinet is a 15" driver designed exclusively for this project. It's matched with a new 1.75" Titanium high frequency driver, aimed through a 1" diameter horn. The dB500a features 500 watts of clean power (400 watts low frequency/100 watts high frequency) and has a crossover designed for high SPL. Our exclusive Optimax(TM) signal processing circuitry provides total speaker protection but won't cut the low end at high volumes, as similar speakers with sliding filters do.
The back panel has a built-in mixer-like preamp section with mic and line inputs, XLR connectors and level controls. Controls for the selectable low pass filter and Optimax processing are also included.
The dB500a speaker cabinet features an array of mounting options. Designed with floor monitoring in mind, they are also easily stacked or permanently installed. A 1 3/8" pole receptacle is built in, and 10 reinforced fly points are available.

This 15-inch, 1,100-watt speaker is perfect for live music applications, and just as appropriate for schools, churches, or even corporate A/V installations. The coverage is wide and consistent, and doesn't sound strange when you get out of the main coverage area - some of the major factors Sweetwater considers when we're designing live sound systems. You'll notice the Milan M15 is remarkably lightweight for a 15-inch PA speaker, at just over 60 pounds. That's due to the cabinet design, which is made from injection-molded polypropylene. And if you look close you'll see a ribbed pattern on the cabinet's exterior (it's actually on the interior as well). That ribbing not only adds strength and rigidity, it also helps cut down on cabinet resonance. Basically, the Milan M15 lets you take advantage of a lighter, stronger design without compromising your sound quality.

You can connect practically any sound source to the Milan M15, from your mixer's line outputs to instruments and microphones. And you've got two inputs available, so the Milan M15 is a perfectly viable solution for coffee shop performances with a guitar and vocal mic.
