The housing of the large library speaker of the Supreme series is made of solid MDF panels and is highly resistant to unwanted native tuning. As with all models in the series, the aperture of the Monitor Supreme 202 is visually deeper and is a feature that defines the design of this compact speaker.
The speaker is available in two high quality wood shades and is equipped with a bass speaker – medium frequency 170 mm with a specially coated paper cone in a case with a bass reflector, which offers a high level of dynamics in the bass section and excellent connection to the tweeter. The new 25 mm fabric canopy with the new flange offers improved and extremely accurate sound scattering properties.
THE SERIES HAS SIGNIFICANT BENEFITS FROM THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NEW TWEETER
All speakers are fine-tuned using the Klippel laser measuring system and are equipped with durable metal baskets and extremely strong magnetic guides. The woofers use a specially coated cellulose cone, which leads to a significant reduction in some vibrations while reducing weight. The goal is to perfect the accuracy of the music playback and achieve maximum dynamics. The floor speakers of the series and the 202 have a newly developed 25 mm canopy for the treble. The fabric dome, which is driven by a ferrite magnet, ensures balanced reproduction across the relevant frequency range. The newly designed tweeter flange also ensures the production of a more homogeneous premium. Due to their smaller size, the 102 and the center speaker of this series are equipped with a slightly smaller, but very high resolution 13 mm canopy.
THE LEVEL OF QUALITY IS APPEARABLE IN ALL THE SPEAKERS IN THE SERIES
The high quality crossovers used in this series are responsible for distributing the music signals to the respective speakers. These crossovers, which have an octave slope of up to 18 dB as well as phase correction, perform their tasks perfectly. The housings themselves, which are slightly tapered backwards, are a real visual and technical feature. These are made of durable MDF and have minimal tuning. Monitor Supreme speakers have an attractive black aperture and are available in two high quality wood shades (Black or Mocha). Large floor speakers are fitted with rubber or metal tips to prevent ground coordination. Solid, gold-plated screw terminals on the back of the speakers ensure a perfect connection to an amplifier – with the sole exception of the Monitor Supreme 102 due to the limited space available on the ultra-compact shelf speaker.

Yamaha\'s NS-333 speaker system has been designed specifically for home theater applications. The Decoupled Double Dome tweeter found in the 685 S2, and the rest of the new 600 Series, is technology taken straight from our award-winning CM10 speaker. A dual-layer design combines a thin aluminium dome for lightness and a thicker aluminium ring for rigidity - the result is absolutely stunning, with far greater clarity in the audible spectrum.
The tweeter is also decoupled from the main cabinet, kept physically separate in its own cavity with a ring of gel cushioning it from vibrations. This improves imaging and dispersion for a more natural, spacious treble.
As well as a decoupled, double dome aluminium tweeter, the two-way 685 S2 features a full-range 6.5-inch driver constructed from woven Kevlar and using Anti-Resonance Plug dustcaps, as seen in high-end Bowers & Wilkins speakers.
