A two-channel, two-tone, hand-wired Marshall combo that works everywhere.
The Marshall Astoria Dual 30W tube combo is an original two-channel design. Via the 1x12 in. 75W Celestion Creamback, the clean channel ranges from brilliant clean sounds to classic Marshall crunch, and the overdrive channel takes over from there offering plenty of gain and tone for heavier riffs and solos.
As well as having the consistent Edge and Power Reduction features, this model also has a Body switch to broaden low end frequencies, as well as a Master volume.
On the rear panel of the Astoria Dual is a footswitchable FX loop with Send, Return and Level controls. If unused, the Level control can be used as a volume boost.
The Astoria Series is about pure, unfettered vintage tone”from loud, unbroken clean to sublime saturation. Built for the connoisseur using precision point-to-point hand-wiring, Astoria is for the serious guitarist who craves authentic tone, but who also wants contemporary features. Astoria offers, across the series, footswitchable features such as: valve-driven FX Loop with independent level control, +20dB gain boost and dual channels, as well as tonal switching and modern power reduction.
To achieve the innovative marriage of authentic tonal character and contemporary features, the Astoria Series uses turrets mounted on the PCB, allowing the hand-wiring and more complex switching circuitry to elegantly coexist on a single board. Please note: ALL of Astoria\' tonal circuitry is point-to-point hand wired for quality and authenticity of tone.
Astoria\' all-tube heart consists of 12AX7 in the preamp, GZ34 rectification and KT66 output stage, which is cathode biased and has no negative feedback.
The output and mains transformers are designed specifically for Astoria, and some of Astoria\' pots use specially selected log tapers to be more balanced across their effective ranges.
Astoria also features Hi & Lo inputs, with the Hi input providing an extra 6dB of sensitivity”a characteristic of many classic, vintage amplifiers.
All three Astoria models are expertly crafted and are designed, engineered and constructed to the highest standards at the Marshall factory in Bletchley, England.
The Look The Astoria Series look is unique, with a quirky œboutique flavor. The Astoria combos have their control panel on top of the cabinet, like vintage Marshall combos, with the Astoria heads being œsmall box design with a vintage-style œletterbox front panel.
The Astoria front panel has a stylish contemporary aesthetic: brushed aluminum, with quality switches and indicators. Combos and heads have a quality strap carry handle and color-coded, vintage-style œPlexiglas Marshall logo badge inspired by the rare oxblood logo badge used for a short time in the mid 1960s.
The three models are covered with colored vinyl: Blue for Dual, Red for Custom and Green for Classic all with a striking cream colored central stripe. The Astoria 1x12 speaker cabinet is available in each color to match.

Marshall 1974X 18W Handwired Combo Guitar Amplifier
The 1974X is an authentic re-issue of the fabled model 1974 combo of the late sixties (1966-1968). Just like the original, it boasts a point-to-point, handwired, tagboard circuit housed in an aluminium chassis, plus a valve-driven tremolo circuit. At the very heart of its simple, but effective, two channel design can be found six valves: three ECC83s in the preamp, an EZ81 rectifier and a pair of cathode biased EL84s in the power stage. As the output and mains transformers are vital components in any amplifier as they influence performance, sound and feel, Marshall worked extremely closely with their associates at Dagnall in order to duplicate the original, "off-the-shelf" transformers in all areas.
Another major contributing factor to the distinctive sound of vintage 1974 combos is the way the original 20 Watt, ceramic magnet, Celestion Greenback T1221 loudspeaker's tone has softened with age.
In order to recreate the gorgeously smooth tones of a 35-year-old vintage Greenback, Celestion not only revisited the 1967 recipe for the speaker, they also came up with a proprietary way of "aging" the speakers so they sound and feel like the originals made in the late '60s! The same exact, exclusive "aged" T1221 Greenback speaker is also found in the 1974CX, a 1x12" extension cabinet for the 1974X.
