More of a Good Thing.
Our S?5 Active Studio Monitors have been such a hit, producers in the hip-hop
and DJ communities asked us for a bigger, louder version. We like things louder
here at TAPCO too, so we designed the loudest, most accurate 8" active studio
monitor in its class, and called it the S?8. With a huge low-end response, your
mixes will be louder, punchier, and have a low-end you can be proud of.
Exceptional sonic performance
The S?8 Active Studio Monitors are designed to be transparent and produce
uncolored low-end sound for monitoring in home and project recording studios,
home theater systems, and anywhere else massive sound is required. The S?8's two-
way bass reflex design provides an amazingly flat frequency response and benefits
from complete system integration from the Active crossover, dual 60-watt power amplifiers,
precision drivers (8-inch low frequency, 1-inch for the highs) and a custom-tuned, ported cabinet.
Cure for bass envy
The S?8's sound big because they ARE big. Perfect for serious dance and hip-hop producers,
the S?8's deliver massive amounts of bass. The 8-inch woofer pushes huge volumes of air with
its integrated 120-watt amplifier, but the low-end response stays clear, not tubby, due to
sophisticated Active technology. A huge heatsink on the rear keeps the electronics cool when
the music is pumping. And because they look as great as they sound, they can only improve the
vibe of your studio.
Adjustable, to work any room
The actual room you mix in can have serious effects on how your mix sounds when played on
other systems. Variables like size and shape, furniture, doors and windows, carpeted or wood floors,
and where you sit when you listen, all combine to determine what you will hear is really what your mix
sounds like. After all, what good is a mix that only sounds good in your studio? With the S?8, we
included fine calibration controls to let you adjust the low (0, +2, +4 dB below 100Hz) and high (+/- 2dB
above 5kHz) frequency response to suit your taste. More importantly, these controls help to ensure that
the great sounds you get with the S?8 also sound great on your home stereo, in the car, and anywhere
else your music is played.
Protecting your investment
We know people want to blast their monitors for long periods in less than laboratory conditions, so we
added some extra circuitry just to keep your S?8s performing their best. The S?8s are tuned to maximize
efficiency, but they can get hot when used in the real world. If the electronics get too hot, separate thermal
switches activate and shut down the high and/or low frequency amplifiers until they cool down. An Over-
excursion filter, just before the low frequency amplifier protects the woofer from shredding itself when the
low-end is driven to the maximum. These extra protections ensure long life and monitors you can count on
to have your back at all times. Finally, we've adding magnetic shielding to protect your computer display or
television from being permanently being tweaked from the powerful magnets found inside the S?8.

PRICE PER UNIT ADAMs A7 & A7X: the evolution of a legend The predecessor to the A7X, the A7, became the most famous of all ADAM monitors in a very short time. Not only has it been reviewed over three dozen times with outstanding results, it has also received numerous awards. The A7 quickly gained mass appeal, praised in many of the worldʼs largest internet forums. Still today, the A7 are the reference monitors in many smaller studios. With the A7X, ADAM Audio proudly presents the evolution of a legend. It takes everything that made the A7 such an outstanding speaker to a new level. Driver technology The first aspect that distinguishes the old from the new model is the X-ART tweeter. The ʽXʼ stands for ʽeXtended frequency responseʼ and thus for one of the features of the Accelerating Ribbon Technology that has been drastically improved: the frequency response. It now extends all the way up to 50kHz. In addition, the X-ART tweeter has a higher efficiency and higher maximum sound pressure levels. The perfect integration with the lower frequencies has been achieved with a newly designed 7” midwoofer. It has been redesigned with a much bigger voice coil (1.5”) and is driven by an amplifier with twice the power compared to its predecessor. This combination produces an amazing sound and pressure levels with an almost distortion-free musical reproduction. Amplifiers / controls Each driver has its own dedicated amplifier. A 50W A/B amp is responsible for the X-ART tweeter, while the midwoofer is being driven by a 100W PWM amp. The front panel includes a power switch and a control for the volume that retains the volume setting independently from the on/off switch. On the rear panel are several additional controls: a gain for the high frequencies (± 4dB) and two shelf filters for high and low frequencies. To ensure greater compatibility, there are both XLR (balanced) and RCA (unbalanced) connectors. S2X
The S2X brings together the virtues of the ʽclassicalʼ 7” woofer and tweeter combination by using ADAM innovative technologies and top-class materials.
The HexaCone 7” woofer is driven by a sophisticated magnet system with a 2” voice coil creating a greater linear excursion. This produces more dynamics than one would assume in a monitor of such small proportions. As a result, in addition to the unsurpassed audio quality of the X-ART and A/B amplifier combination, this monitor surprises the listener with a very powerful, deep, but always tight and precise low end.
Review at a glance: "Sonic sensation“
“The ADAM Audio S2X can convince in all areas, concerning the sound as well as the workmanship, and are worth every Euro. […] a no-compromise tool for all who mean serious business, whether in music or postproductions.” (www.96kHz.de, 03/2010)
“We started off with a classical string quartet recording and let´s just say right away that the S2Xs floored us. Several adjectives spring to mind [...] - wide open, transparent, effortless, breathtaking realistic, loud, dynamic, involving... [...] If you close your eyes and continue listening, the S2Xs seem to ‚disappearʽ almost entirely. [...] you gradually become less aware that you´re listening to speakers because they´re like an open window on the music itself. [...] Result: These monitors are up there with the best we´ve tried so far.” (MusicTech, 01/2010)

The Twin6 Be is the best seller of the Focal Professional range and the most versatile work tool of the SM6 line. It represents the only necessary solution for recording, mixing and mastering. The image precision, treble definition as well as midrange neutrality are at the heart of its reputation.
The excellent articulation of the bass and midbass registers, even at very high sound levels, makes it an unavoidable reference for engineers who require absolute transparency. Furthermore, the design of the Twin6 Be permits a high SPL while at the same time offering a stable tonal balance. One of the two 6.5" woofers works in large band (midrange – bass) whereas the other reproduces from 40 to 150Hz. This creates a bass that preserves all the signal dynamics, without any masking effect in the midrange, thereby keeping all its neutrality and transparency. Additional control of the bass register is accomplished by fine-tuning on the control plate on the back of the Twin6 Be in order to obtain a perfect mirror configuration with its mate. The Twin6 Be can be installed vertically or horizontally to respond to the space requirements of each studio.

The CMS 50 is the most compact monitoring loudspeaker of all the Focal Professional range. Its design permits listening from 50cm away, while still keeping the possibility of the monitors at a great distance from one another without damaging the soundstage. The 5” mid-woofer reaches down to 55Hz, while offering a controlled bass and a totally linear midrange. The midrange register of the CMS 50 has unequalled neutrality in its price range. The Al-Mg inverted dome tweeter offers outstanding dynamics and a degree of definition in the treble that allow precise measurement of reverb and other effects which are normally very difficult to assess.
