Choose Your Weapon: Building on the success of the original, the feature-packed MPD2 Series gives you amazing creative musical ammo with Thick Fat backlit MPC pads, improved controls and new bundled software

OK, it was a tall order. We admit it. People loved the original MPDs so much that we didnʼt want to mess with success.

But we did.

The MPD2 Series is a product of over six years of detailed customer research and user feedback. We asked what you wanted and we listened closely. We took what you told us and turned it into the most capable and user-friendly line of pad controllers Akai Professional has developed to date.

Nitty-Gritty
The MPD232 is a MIDI-over-USB pad controller perfect for producers, programmers, musicians and DJs alike. Its intuitive blend of MPC controls and technologies mesh with easy USB connectivity to bring the feel of classic beat making into the world of computer music production.

Experience the Difference
First, we stepped up our game by adding new, ultra sensitive Thick Fat MPC pads, creating an amazingly responsive user experience. The MPD232 has an expanded control set featuring four knobs, four faders, four buttons arranged in three banks for 36 total controls, versus 12 on the MPD26. This will enable you to maximize your sound and give you increased control over effects.

The MPD232 also boasts an all-new 64-channel, 32-step performance sequencer, which the MPD32 did not have. MIDI information is sent over its plug-and-play USB interface for use on Mac or PC, eliminating the need to install any drivers.

Goodies
Along with the improved functionality weʼve added iOS compatibility using the Camera Connection Kit (sold separately) and included over $400 of free software. Titles include: Akai Pro MPC Essentials, Big Bang Drums and Big Bang Cinema from Sonivox, Ableton Live Lite, and Software Preset Editor.

The aforementioned Software Preset Editor allows you to enjoy intuitive control editing right from the front panel of the MPD232.

Our MPD2 Series marks an important evolution of the pad controller. Many years of research and customer feedback has led directly to some of the most capable pad controllers weʼve ever developed. These MPDs are the perfect bridge between your creativity and your computer-based studio.

Dual Oscillator / X-Mod Design Offering two oscillators, the monotron DUO adds an extra dimension, delivering an even more extreme sound. Tune the oscillators in unison for a rich, thick, analog tone. Tune them in intervals for classic soloing sounds and generating new effects. The X-MOD (cross modulation) circuit taken from Korg's classic Mono/Poly can introduce a mild or razor-sharp edge to the overall sound; everything from a rich vibrato to extreme metallic sounds reminiscent of an FM synth. Enhanced Ribbon Controller Keyboard The monotron DUO's ribbon controller keyboard now features the familiar Scale function used on the KAOSSILATOR. You can use this button to select one of four scales: Chromatic, Major, Minor, or Off. Choose the Chromatic scale to play precise pitches as on a piano, or choose Major or Minor to generate musically coherent phrases by simply sliding your finger around on the keyboard. monotron DUO: Synthesizer structure: 2 VCOs (Square Wave) with X-Mod; 1 VCF Switches: Standby / VCO1 / VCO1+2 Scale Select Button: (Chromatic -> Major -> Minor -> Off) Knobs: VCO1 Pitch, X-MOD Int., VCO2 Pitch, VCF Cutoff, VCF Peak Controller: Ribbon Controller with Scale Select Volume: Headphone Volume Aux Input: 1/8" Stereo Jack Headphone Output: 1/8" Stereo Jack Speaker: Miniature Internal; Disabled when headphones are in use Power Supply: AAA batteries (x2), recommended alkaline batteries Battery Life: Approximately 8 hours (with alkaline batteries) Accessories: Owner's Manual, AAA batteries x2 (for verifying operation) Dimensions (W x D x H): 120 mm x 72 mm x 28 mm / 4.72" x 2.83" x 1.10" Weight: 95g / 3.35 oz. Classic Analog Synth / Space Delay Combination
A good delay was an essential part of the classic analog synthesizer sound. More often than not, that delay came from a tape-style echo machine until affordable digital delays were created. The monotron DELAY is an analog synthesizer optimized for sound effects. In addition to its analog oscillator, filter, and LFO, it also provides a Space Delay that's indispensable for swooping, cosmic sounds. The monotron DELAY even reproduces the pitch changes that occur when you vary the delay time, just as though you were using an analog tape echo.  As with the filter, the delay effect can be added to any external sound via the Aux In jack.  This fat and warm delay will add an authentic edge to your analog sounds!

Dual-Waveform LFO
The Low Frequency Oscillator (LFO) waveform used to modulate the pitch now offers a choice of waveshapes – a new square wave plus the traditional triangle wave. Both the Rate (Speed) and the Intensity (Depth) can be adjusted independently. In addition, a trimpot on the back panel can continuously adjust the shape/direction of the triangle wave or the pulse-width of the square wave to deliver even more versatility. Used in conjunction with the delay, the LFO can create dazzling effects and provide unique possibilities for embellishing your songs.

Wide-Range Ribbon Keyboard
The monotron DELAY's ribbon controller keyboard features a wide, four-octave range. This design allows the pitch to be controlled even more aggressively and dynamically, making the monotron DELAY a great weapon for a DJ to get the floor moving with irresistible sound. The reversed white keys and body adornments glows under black light illumination, making the monotron DELAY ideal for delivering a striking visual impact in nearly any club environment.
