The LD Systems DDQ Sub 18 is a powerful active subwoofer with digital signal processing for demanding PA applications. It is precisely adapted for combination with the full-range speakers of the DDQ Series and is equally suitable for use with tops made by other manufacturers.
The compact bass-reflex design is loaded with an 18" FaitalPRO bass speaker that has a 4" voice coil and a neodymium magnet driven by two 700-watt Hypex Class D power amplifier modules with a highly efficient switching power supply with a total output of 1400 watts RMS. The DDQ Sub 18 attains a maximum sound-level pressure of 134 dB with a frequency response curve of 30 -120 Hz.
The Sharc DSP programmed especially for the DDQ subwoofers ensures distortion-free and reliable operation even at maximum volume levels with a 1ms look ahead limiter, frequency and phase correction, as well as all protection circuits, and has a large dynamic range of 127dB/113 dB (ADC/DAC). Seven DSP Presets permit selectable crossover frequencies between 80 and 120Hz. Eight additional presets make it possible to realize cardioid configurations of 2 or 3 subwoofers, whereby it is possible to attain rear attenuation of up to 20dB. In addition to XLR inputs and outputs, the DDQ Sub 18 has a separate mono output with a 100Hz high-pass filter. Additional features are LED function indicators and a ground lift switch; the volume and preset controls can be deactivated to prevent inadvertent adjustment.
The cabinet of the DDQ Sub 18 is made of 18mm thick multiplex with an extremely durable polyurethane finish. It is equipped with two M20 threaded flanges and ergonomic handles and is prepared for mounting of casters.

With built-in presets for quick system integration and a variety of cardioid array configurations it is completely user-friendly. The Stinger® SUB 18 A G3 is powered by high efficiency Class D amplification with a giant 800 watts RMS output. It drives a custom designed 18” woofer delivering a huge bottom end with terrific punch and excellent definition. The Stinger® SUB 18 A G3 incorporates LD Systemsʼ proprietary DynX® DSP technology to ensure top-level performance and pristine, distortion-free bass reproduction at all times. | Music starts to really groove when you can feel the bass in your body. The ICOA SUB can deliver as much bass as you want - to get the people rocking and entice them to the dance floor. It can even lend a multimedia presentation that special oomph it needs to reach its audience.
The ICOA SUB pumps out serious bass and gives you greater headroom and a clearer sound. This is because your subwoofer relieves the main speaker, whose woofers are now less burdened by high-energy bass impulses, resulting in less intermodulation distortion. Even at higher volumes, the sound doesn't get muffled. Voices and instruments stay crystal clear.
Thanks to its powerful Class D amplifier with 600-watt RMS or 2400-watt peak output, you have some serious power at your command. The presets of the integrated DynX DSP - which offers crossover frequencies of 80, 100 and 120 Hz - let you finely balance your ICOA SUB perfectly with your system. Signal polarity can also be reversed and the SUB offers a delay line-preset for distances up to 10 meters.
When your needs begin to expand as the venues get bigger, your setup can grow along with you. Simply add more ICOA SUBs, which can be operated in parallel, giving you more and more power. You can also take advantage of the cardioid-preset. Simply position the additional subwoofers next to your ICOA SUB facing to the rear and enable the cardioid-preset to get a quieter and controlled low-end at the back while still keeping the punch at the front.
The rugged housings made of 18 mm laminated wood can be stacked, while the M20 thread on top lets you mount the main speakers using a distance pole. Transport is simplified by mounting rollers to the rear. Corner protectors guard the edges during setup. To keep the ICOA SUB from slipping out of your hands, its four aluminium grips are covered in rubber.
