With the black TASCAM DR-10L Micro Portable Audio Recorder with Lavalier Microphone, you can record full-resolution dialog and speech while skipping the trouble of long cable runs and avoiding the confusion of configuring a wireless microphone system. Whether you use the included omnidirectional lavalier mic or connect your preferred lav to the Sennheiser-compatible mic input, the entire setup can be discreetly affixed to your sound source. Just over 2 x 2 inches (and only 1-inch deep), the DR-10L is ideal for videography, interviews, weddings, vlogs, and lectures where the audio equipment needs to stay out of sight.

Run-and-gun filmmakers will appreciate its ultra-compact form factor and power-up-and-record workflow for time-sensitive shoots. There’s no need to select inputs, arm tracks, or choose channel modes. Clip the DR-10L to a belt, or stash it in a pocket, start recording, and let it roll for the rest of the day. A single AAA battery will keep it running for up to 10 hours, so all-day gigs won’t be a problem. Power the DR-10L via USB if you need indefinite operating time for sessions that continue on into the night. Worried about clipping? Don’t be. The DR-10L’s limiter and auto-level functions work to prevent overloading, while the dual-recording feature makes a safety track at a lower level, just in case.

Inconspicuous and Capable
Building on the success of the DR-10X and the DR-10SG, the DR-10L marries the industry-standard TASCAM portable mini-recorder with a high-performance lavalier microphone. Easy to use and easy to wear, the DR-10L can become your secret agent for better audio capture.
Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone
The included lavalier microphone features a mic clip for stable attachment to your sound source. Its omnidirectional polar pattern ensures that audio will be picked up from all directions, reducing inconsistencies caused by head movements and changes in mic position.
Locking 3.5mm Mic Input Jack
The locking 3.5mm mic input jack not only works with the included lav mic, but also provides a secure connection point for most Sennheiser lavalier mics and mics wired to the Sennheiser standard. A 2V mic bias can be activated via the DR-10L’s menu system for mics that require plug-in power.
Volume Adjustable 3.5mm Headphone Output
Connect headphones to the 3.5mm mini-jack output for simple monitoring of file playback or input while recording. The volume is adjustable via side-panel buttons.
Dual Recording Creates a Safety Track at a Lower Level
Knowing that filmmakers and videographers often experience sudden audio volume jumps during filming, the DR-10L has several features to prevent distorted audio, and the most secure is dual recording. This feature captures a copy of your signal at a lower level (-6 dB or -12 dB), as a safety track in case of distortion.
Automatic File Closing Saves File Data upon Power Loss
You can always monitor the battery level on the easy-to-read OLED display. If the battery runs out in the middle of a recording, the unit will automatically save the file before turning off so your take isn’t lost. The case is designed so that the batteries can be changed quickly without removing the recorder from its belt clip.
Automatic Gain and Limiter Inhibit Distortion
If the input sound level is too low or too high, an automatic gain control function can increase or decrease the recording volume to an appropriate level. Additionally, the limiter prevents distortion caused by sudden input overloads. These functions save you from worrying about input levels in situations when there is no second chance.
Supports microSD/microSDHC Cards
The DR-10L is compatible with microSD cards (up to 2GB capacity) and microSDHC cards (up to 32GB capacity). Record in WAV format for uncompressed audio quality, or use MP3 format for extended recording time on your media card. A 2GB card will yield over four hours of mono recording time at 24-bit / 48 kHz resolution.
Operates up to 10 Hours Continuously
A single alkaline AAA battery (available separately) will provide up to 10 hours of recording time at 24-bit / 28 kHz resolution. The DR-10L can be operated on disposable lithium or rechargeable NiMH batteries, or via USB bus power.
Compact and Lightweight Body
The DR-10L has been designed to be small, light, and easy to conceal. Perfect for on-camera talent, documentary subjects, or entire wedding parties, the DR-10L can easily be hidden away so that nothing comes between you and the perfect shot. Weighing just 2.2 ounces with a battery (available separately), your subject will forget it’s even there.
Record Switch Design Prevents Accidental Use
The recording switch uses a sliding mechanism to prevent accidental use. In addition, the hold function can prevent recording from being stopped by unintentional contact with a button.
WAV and MP3 Formats
The DR-10L has a built-in clock and supports recording to BWF format, which has time information for improved searching, editing, and software compatibility. In addition to WAV and BWF format, recording and playback of MP3 files is supported.

The Apogee X-VID-SYC-GEN Video Expansion Card is designed to fit in the X-Series card slot located in the rear panel of the Apogee Big Ben Master Digital Clock (sold separately). Allows all functions to be controlled from the Big Ben user interface and generates video and provides genlocking function. In genlocking mode the source video-signal will be re-clocked and regenerated, maintaining the same
field and colorburst phase information, but stripped of its line information and replaced by video-black. In slave mode the board will auto-detect the incoming video-standard and configure itself accordingly. The video input is of very high tolerance and will even lock to unstable sources like VCR's.

The Apogee X-VID-SYC-GEN Video Expansion Board has three modes of operation.
•Master mode: The user selects the video format on the frontpanel of the Big Ben. The Big Ben will slave to the generated video signal

•Attended Slave mode: The video board will be configured to autodetect and genlock to the incoming video. The Big Ben will slave to the incoming video signal

•Unattended Slave mode: The video board will be configured to autodetect and genlock to the incoming video. The Big Ben is not clocking to the Video board and therefore both will function independently

Features
  • Support for PAL, NTSC and 60 Hz B&W standards
  • One composite video input and three composite video outputs
  • Can operate as a master black-burst generator
  • Can operate as genlocking slave device
