The Tweeq T?231 is a 2-channel 31-band graphic equalizer that allows you to "tune" your
live sound setup to sound best in any given space. This instrument provides fine control of
31 frequency bands?giving you the power to "shape" your sound with exceptional precision.

Why should you Tweeq?
Your average car or home stereo typically provides bass and treble controls to let you tune your
system to your particular taste. The Tweeq T?231 works in a similar way, but offers much finer
control via 31 separate precision slide controls that boost or cut specific frequencies, ranging from
the lowest bass to the highest treble frequencies. While you can certainly use the T?231 to fine-tune
a PA system to suit your particular tonal preferences, it's most powerful as a tool for correcting issues
like muddy sounding loudspeakers or annoying feedback from stage monitors.
What's to Tweeq?
The T?231 features dual-channel stereo operation with precision sliders for fine control of your audio.
It's designed with constant Q filters for superior sonic performance at 1/3-octave intervals across the
entire range of frequencies normal human beings, drummers and DJs can hear. In addition, both channels
offer variable high and Low Pass Filters for removing unwanted upper and lower frequencies from your
sound, a 6 or 12 dB Range switch for gross- or fine tuning, bright four-segment LED metering, Output
gain control, and a Bypass switch for quick A/B comparisons. And forget the adapters because the
Tweeq T?231 provides RCA, balanced/unbalanced ?-inch and balanced XLR connections for both inputs
and outputs.

Fortunately for you road dogs, the Tweeq T?231 is compact - filling just two spaces in your standard 19-inch
rack-mount road case. It has a switchable 115V/230V power supply in case you're traveling across borders,
and it's designed to be tough enough to withstand the punishing rigors of the road while continuing to perform
set after set, night after night, year after year.

PASSIVE-ACTIVE FILTER DESIGN
Avalon equalizers feature the unique combination of both active and passive filter EQ designs.
This special combination enables the AD2055 to deliver high speed transient detail at the
operational extremes of real-world equalization demands. The passive high and low bands offer
alternate musical tone range to the full function active parametric mid bands. Passive equalizers
have long been a favorite with music lovers around the world.  Full bodied, powerful (up to +/-32dB,
64dB range !) and sweet frequency selections are the benefits of the passive high-low EQ bands.
The full bandwidth twin mid bands provide variable frequency selection (X10 frequency multipliers

The class-A circuit used in the EQ-73 is similar to the eq section in the classical 1073 module, without the high pass filter. Additional frequencies have been added and the mid frequency band uses two inductors, the higher value of the second one is used for the two lowest frequencies, 160 Hz and 240 Hz, to achieve a suitable response.

The sound character is warm, punchy, sweet and musical. These classic characteristics have been heard on countless recordings through the years and it is a versatile sound that works very well on most sound sources and in most genres. The essence of this sound is now available at a surprisingly low cost, making it available to nearly everyone.

The EQ-73 has stepped frequency controls that offers a wide selection of frequencies from 20 Hz to 24 kHz.

The Low and High frequency bands are shelving and the mid frequency band is of the bell type.

The control range is +/-15 dB for the two lower bands and +/- 18dB for the high frequency band.

There are separate bypass switches for all three bands.

The EQ-73 is made to be used together with one of our PRE-73 models that has an Insert jack. It can also be used with many other units that has a low level insert jack.

Combining a PRE-73 and an EQ-73, and using a UNITE rack kit to mount them together, one will get a 19-inch 1073-style unit at a low cost and with a great sound!
